Cruciform 1 - Trust
This first work in a series of three Crux sculptures depicts elements of the relationship Crux in which we all participate. Invariably, Crux is a construct of sacrifice. The Law of Reversed Effort might be considered as the creative force within the Crux metaphor – “Whosoever would save his soul shall lose it”. In this negative space of grace, the possibility of creativity becomes a mystical reality. These figures both signify intimacy and connectedness (like the vertical and horizontal beams of a cross) as well as the divine dance of life. Elements of trust, eternity and upliftment will be depicted in this series. Crux thus becomes symbol both of sacrifice and of celebration!
